XX Congresso SItE Roma 2010

XX Congresso S.It.E. Roma 27-30 Settembre 2010

ISME 13 Symposium Seattle US

Microbes-Stewards of a changing Planet
22-27 August 2010
Washington State Convention and Trade Centre

Dear Microbial Ecology Colleagues
Building on the success of ISME12 the 13th International Society for Microbial Ecology Conference will be in Seattle, USA from August 22 - 27, 2010. As is ISME tradition we have a vibrant scientific program planned with plenary presenters; Penny Chisholm, Jeffrey Gordon, Ian Sanders, Christa Schleper, and Warwick Vincent.
The venue, Washington State Convention & Trade Center, is at the centre of downtown Seattle, a city that inspires innovation. Seattle combines the best of the outdoors, surrounded by dramatically beautiful mountains and forests, with the best of city life. Known to many as the “Emerald City”, Seattle is renowned for being “green” and you notice the eco-friendly policies of the city at every corner. We invite you as an integral part of this stimulating symposium and we are looking forward to welcoming you to Seattle.

8th International Congress on Extremophiles, Azores (P) 12-16 Sept 2010

On behalf of the Organizing Committees and the International Society of Extremophiles it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Extremophiles 2010 which will be held in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores.

This will be the 8th in the series of International Congresses on Extremophiles, which started in 1996 in Estoril, a memorable meeting for many of us.

This conference will provide an international forum to appreciate the current state of the art of Extremophiles and to discuss how science in this field can contribute to finding solutions to the challenges we face in the future. To this end, we are inviting the most prominent scientists in their field to join us at the Extremophiles 2010.

Located on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the Azores Islands provide an ideal venue, combining a beautiful and peaceful environment with the opportunity to visit sites with extreme conditions. This will be a great opportunity to meet friends and colleagues, to launch new collaborations and to enjoy the social programme we prepared for you.

See you in the Azores
Helena Santos
Chair of the congress
